Getting priorities
right : SPHERE aims to offer consumers
simple, reliable solutions attuned to emerging lifestyles
in the belief that every stage counts – all
the way from preparation, freezing and storage of
food to the collection and sorting of waste. Innovations
that include the European launch of drawstring bags,
a 50% reduction in the thickness of bags that also
offer greater strength and impermeability, and the
first moves into biopolymers have created new diversity
and differentiation in waste collection bags. Similarly,
research into new materials has significantly enhanced
standards of hygiene and safety for food packaging
and wraps, including cling film, freezing bags,
ice-cube bags and rolls of aluminium foil.
Creative marketing also makes a
important contribution to business in the consumer
sector, which represents roughly twothirds of SPHERE
group’s sales. This is reflected in a steady
flow of new products confirming SPHERE’s leadership
position and allowing for expansion into new market
segments. Examples include new colours and fragrances
for waste collection bags, colour codes identifying
contents, and biodegradable bags. |
